The REAL Cost of Technology
At first glance, you might take a look at the invoice for your internet, electricity, or quotes for the equipment you have recently purchased, but the real cost of technology reaches much further than the numbers you see written on a piece of paper.

The most valuable resource to any company is the employee, which is an expense all too often overlooked when calculating the cost of IT. Sure, hiring Employee X might include purchasing new hardware, but stop for a moment to consider each key-stroke that employee will make and the time he or she will spend creating files to benefit your business.

The time Employee X spends creating these files is something you are paying for. The creative designs of Employee X are an asset to your business. You have invested a great deal of revenue into the information that will be created and stored by this employee and the ability they have to continue generating these assets.

The most expensive aspect of your REAL cost of technology is the downtime your employees experience when technology fails. Technology is here to increase efficiency and simplify tasks, not cause problems and frustration. Most users have a laundry list of complaints about their computers, which should not be the case. The primary concerns we hear from new clients are...

  • My computer is too slow
  • We can't print from this computer
  • This error message keeps popping up on my screen
  • That computer always freezes
  • I want to connect my email to this new phone

Do any of these concerns match the ones on your laundry list? If so, we can help! A simple network audit will show us where to start and we can move on from there! Once we are familiar with your network, ITonDemand can proactively manage your environment to make business run smoothly. Increased uptime and efficiency = increased profit potential! We want to work WITH you to make this happen, not just FOR you. All you need to do is ask!

This is the perfect time of year to have your network assessed. ITonDemand consultants will work with you to create a plan that fits your budget. Having this information on hand now will allow you to make room in your budget for fixed cost IT services, as opposed to an astronomical invoice in the event that something breaks. Invest in a healthy IT environment and start reaping the benefits today! Call us today to learn more!

No Tricks, Just Treats
Trick-or-treating isn't just for the kids this year! ITonDemand has a treat waiting for you and would like to send it to your front door! Last month we unveiled a new promotion to thank our ITonDemand friends. By completing a simple form you will have a FREE microfiber cleaning cloth sent straight to you! But why a microfiber cloth?

Most of us have touch screen devices, which are riddled with germs. (More germs on an iPhone than on a public toilet seat in a subway station. Talk about creepy!) Rubbing alcohol, Windex, and other cleaners deteriorate the touch sensors on your devices, so go the "green" route and mix 2 parts vinegar with one part water to make a germ-killing solution.

Dip the corner of your microfiber cloth (paper towels and fabric can scratch your device) into the solution and wipe your devices down on a regular basis. (Especially during cold and flu season!) Then use the dry section of your cloth to dry your devices.

Now you are germ-free! What a TREAT! Get your FREE microfiber cleaning cloth today!

Adding IT to the Budget
Technology is an investment and maintaining the health of your system should be a priority. Most of us are guilty of waiting until a computer completely stops working before seeking help. This can result in unanticipated expenses, which can cause a financial burden. Taking a proactive approach to monitoring your network, through a fixed cost, managed services plan can not only reduce the likelihood of surprise expenses, but also increase the efficiency of your IT environment, allowing for greater productivity and potential profit.

ITonDemand is here to help! When putting together your budget for 2012, go ahead and calculate a managed services package! Pulling together a quote for you is quick and easy. So go ahead - Get your FREE quote now!

Disaster-Proofing Your Office

Do you have a backup of company records? Many business owners are quick to let us know they have taken proactive measures to backup important company data to an external source, but is this really enough?

Say you are backing information up to a server, located in the storage room, or an external hard drive, locked away in the office manager's desk. Fantastic... unless someone forgets to back everything up and your network is attacked by a virus the morning before your largest proposal of the year is due... or until faulty electrical wiring destroys your entire facility one night.

While insurance companies will pay for damage done, how do you plan to retrieve the valuable files that were stored on the computer of Employee X? The melted server in the storage room? The pancake of an external hard drive you have been left with? No one wants to imagine such catastrophes, but the reality is - these things happen.

Friends, you have no reason to panic. ITonDemand is here to offer off-site backup solutions at incredibly affordable rates. Let us help you Disaster-Proof your office(s) today! We can help you protect your valuable data and restore your files without breaking a sweat.

Tech Tip for You!
In today's fast paced world of technology, Google has become a close personal friend to many of us. Personally, I feel as though I speak to Google more frequently than the members of my household. Despite Google becoming part of our everyday language (ex. "Just Google it!" or "Wait, I'm Googling it now!") some of our fellow humanoids fail to understand that Google has all the answers!

Next time you encounter a fellow humanoid who fails to understand the great power and wisdom of Google, do not be alarmed! A new fantastic website called Let Me Google That For You shares your pain and wants to help! Simply type in whatever the person was trying to figure out and click the search button, as you would when looking something up for yourself. The site will create a URL for your friend, which can even be converted into a tiny URL.

Send the cute little link to your friend (or foe - we don't really care who you are sending them to ) and they will be directed to the Let Me Google That For You website and walked through a demonstration of how simple using Google can be. The site will use the topic you entered to demonstrate this concept and then take the user to the search results page. Here is an example we created just for YOU!
